As one of the major research centers in the nation, the University of Michigan offers a wealth of varied research and related support resources. The list of major research equipment and operating facilities is too extensive to enumerate in detail here. Suffice it to say that each participating department houses the full range of sophisticated research equipment appropriate to its field of specialty. These are continuously augmented and updated to provide all necessary support for the diverse programs in macromolecules.
The library system includes the Hatcher Graduate Library, the Undergraduate Library, the Engineering Library, and 23 divisional libraries.
The University divisional libraries are conveniently located in the individual departments and institutes. They each house the appropriate scientific, engineering, and technical holdings, including journals, texts, treatises, and reference works. In total volumes it is the fourth largest University library in the country, with the Engineering Library being the second largest in the country.

The Statistical Research Laboratory provides consulting services on statistical and data analytic problems to all graduate students and faculty researchers. The laboratory also provides, maintains, and documents a series of statistical computer programs that are available through the Computing Center.
The University of Michigan has an outstanding Computing Center with an international reputation for excellence. The systems are designed for interactive usage utilizing a wide variety of terminals and small computers. Computing capability has been expanded by establishing a campus-wide network linking individual computers in departments with the central computer systems. A number of microcomputers are available for research use in the participating departments.
